It isn’t billed as “Nick’s Big Night” but that is how Paul Lane from Unplug The Jukebox is describing Nick Tann’s headline at the Talking Heads next Tuesday (14th June).
Paul is a regular contributor to Nick’s podcast so knows how important this gig is for the Eastleigh singer/songwriter.
And so does Nick: “It’s a real boost knowing that someone gets what I do and has enough belief in me to be able to bring people to such an event. ”
That someone is promoter Andrzej Batt who is putting on “Max’s Acoustic Session” and Nick is naturally made up that he is heading the bill.
“There are some amazing acoustic musicians in Southampton and I’m very lucky to be sharing a stage with them.”
These include Mike Vaughan, Natt Birch and The Real Raj all of whom are veterans of the various open mic sessions around the city.
It’s always a tough gig for a solo act to fill a big stage and provide the focused entertainment that an audience requires but, as Nick point’s out with the Talking Heads great stage P.A. system he’ll be using both to their fullest benefits!
Regular readers will know that Nick is currently half way through his ‘Vinyl Project’ which is a live studio album to be released on a 12 inch piece of plastic.
The recording was made at Livingstone studio in London and pre-orders and donations are being sought for the pressing. Find out more at nicktann.co.uk
